Favourites

I visited the Hottie Exhibition again yesterday with The Mother, as there were only a few people there this time it was easy to take a closer look at some of the amazing creations and take a few photos.

Here are some of my favourites...

Yes, I included my entry, she sure is keeping excellent company.

Just a few of the 100 plus entries all as individual as their creative makers and all truly amazing.
If you are in Melbourne the Hotties will be on show until July 24th, it really is worth a visit.
Playing Favourites with Mrs P today so pop on over and see what other favourite things are on show.
Hope the sun is shining on your world today.

Night Magic...

is the name of my creation for the Hottie Challenge.
I was thinking glamour on a 'Hot' Night.

I enjoyed the challenge of putting the pretty flowers to good use and I think they portray what I imagined.

All the different designs I have seen so far are amazing and reminds me that no matter what the project everyone creates an individual piece.
I am so looking forward to the display of all the Hotties - you will find them at Open Drawer in Melbourne July 1-24 hope you get a chance to take a look.
Thanks to MsCurlyPops for organising the blogger group entry.
Wishing you some heat in your evening.

Oopsie...

So I played in the pincushion challenge over at Pins and Needles.

The rules were quite clear about only using what you had to hand - well there really wasn't a problem with that - Plenty of resources in the warehouse - so I decided to play with the scrap basket.

Now I have a new friend in the sewing room.

Look mum tippie toes.

Just hanging out inside where it is warm and dry.
Altered pattern, Oopsie by Melanie Hurlston, from the Moda Bakeshop
So much fun.

New (or almost)

A new friend to take on stitchy outings.

Well she will be when I make her, I chose the fabric today and maybe I will start tomorrow?

I have wanted this pattern since I first saw her on Natalies blog - now it has come to live at my house - Yay.

Now the pincushion for the challenge over at Pins and Needles has a mind of its own -

Let's just she wheelie is a challenge.

Slowly she emerges from her safe place...

Need to focus - as I deadline is Monday.

Hope you have time for creative activity.

Starting again!!

A whole day at home and I think I can achieve amazing things in the sewing room -

So I started

playing with some scraps and this is what I have so far, small parts which will become a pincushion for the challenge that I am participating in over at Pins and Needles.

And a new stitchery from the lovely Jodie @ Ric-Rac which is part of a patchwork scarf pattern we received at the Daylesford Craft Experience last month.

I did not complete quilting the wall hanging - the next target date is in 18 days -

I plan to do some each day to get if finished!

Can you say Pretty?

Look what the mailman left for me this week... What is inside the pretty pink paper? Ooh - Look a pretty Tilda book, a lovely fat quarter and a nice smelly thing for my drawer.
This pretty package came from Fiona of Mother's Cupboard and is my prize from the Bunny Challenge. Yippee Me! Thanks Fiona and just in time for a long weekend - I wonder how many things I might be tempted to start?

Challenge...

Back in February Fiona over at Mothers Cupboard issued a challenge and provided a simply gorgeous stitchery design - The challenge to make something for Easter using the stitchery. .........................
Well I didn't start in February or even early March, no - I waited until there was only one week to go until Easter and then I started. .................................
Now I am finished - I reduced the pattern and made these three gift bags to send to my sister and nieces interstate.

The Challenge now is can the Post People deliver before Easter? ..................

Oh, yes that is one of those Annie Angels with messy hair in the blue bag.

The latest Annie Angel ready to take flight with two sisters. There are more in production so she won't be the last one here. ....................

Hope you had a fantastic Saturday - I certainly did! .......................

Tomorrow I am off to the Ballan Quilt show to check out all the amazing work of the talented people in that part of the state. Enjoy whatever you get up to. ......................
