Ooh Pretty

First up thanks to Kathy for the gorgeous pattern I received in the Friends with Benefits giveaway.
This sure looks like a fun pattern from the talented Helen of Hugs and Kisses - in my favourite round shape.
Can't wait to get started, just need to choose colours.

While the rain was falling on Wednesday I stayed dry inside and played with my new fabrics.

I unwrapped this lot and ironed them out.

Then I cut a whole lot of squares.

I paired them all with natural homespun,

and started sewing pin wheels

I'll be sewing some more with these this weekend - I wonder which layout I will choose.

I don't usually use this much plain fabric, but I am liking the look of these already.

Hope there are some pretties in your world.

Ooh - pretty paper, I wonder what's inside??

A very pretty stocking with lace and beads and ribbon.

A little pretty goes a long way today.
Thanks Lisa and thanks to Selina for hosting such a fun swap.

Magnificent Monday

Continuing the stitching from Saturday - 4 done - 2 to stitch! Only 'C' and '3' to do.
A little stitching on Flat Nat's suitcase - it sure is little stitching!
Good Mail - fabric from the lovely Marina to make more apple cores (and there wasn't even any of that other mail to spoil it.)
Lots of pretties here - Thanks Marina.
Work got cancelled, so today turned into a stitchy fabric filled Magnificent Monday.

Can you say Pretty?

Look what the mailman left for me this week... What is inside the pretty pink paper? Ooh - Look a pretty Tilda book, a lovely fat quarter and a nice smelly thing for my drawer.
This pretty package came from Fiona of Mother's Cupboard and is my prize from the Bunny Challenge. Yippee Me! Thanks Fiona and just in time for a long weekend - I wonder how many things I might be tempted to start?

Winners

The M&M's fairy delivered the following package after much delay due to snow in her home town.

It all started a few weeks back when Kathy had pics of these on her blog and I mentioned we didn't get that flavour here, she generously suggested she could send me some - once the snow stopped visiting.

So what is so different about these - the ones in the purple pack are dark chocolate and the red pack has peanut butter M's.

YUMMY

Thank you so much Kathy they are much appreciated.

I'm trying to figure out how to make them last for the longest time?

Here are the pretties I picked up at GJ's sale on Saturday - in the back row 3 London Cats fabrics, same design in different colours and in the front, some $2 fat quarters, cause they were there and everything was 25% off. I also picked up batting and thread to complete another quilt.

The winner of my one year bloggy anniversary giveaway is Marina from Maisie and the boys, and as this is my 150th post I chose a second winner, and that is Cathy from Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.

Can you believe Miss Nudie chose the colour for her outfit today and then the power went out? Lucky it is not cold here! She will be dressed shortly and then she will be able to make an appearance here.

Hope you all had a good Monday - I sure did.

Look what came in the mail

I was lucky enough to win one of Helena's giveaways when she launched her patterns online and this came in the mail yesterday, something else to start soon. I am trying to be a little restrained about starting another project as there are a few piled up already which have definite end dates. Best just focus for five minutes or more. This will definitely be my next start, I have read the pattern and it is clear and easy to follow I love the colours which Helena has used in her design they are just so fresh. I did some stitching on the swap project and the Home project yesterday and I have to say I am happy with how they are both coming together. You will see some more of them here soon. Hope your week is going well. Happy Crafting

What have we here?

I believe the post people may have got my message last week, I got this in the post yesterday from Jantine, my partner in the Paper Bag swap, she only posted it Thursday from the Netherlands. Lots of my favourite colour RED and plenty of embellishments to inspire me, buttons, ricrac, metallic thread and some braid. The red spotty with white lace edge is actually a type of binding which could be a bit of a challenge! I have a few ideas so I will have to decide which to do. I have completed more Happy House blocks today. After all my practising I think I have finally made some which are suitable for swapping. I will be posting these off to Lurline next week.I won one of Helena's patterns in her recent giveaway and can't wait to see it in real life. A small quilt with a Sewing Angel on it, she will come in very handy, I am thinking for all those projects which I forget to finish before starting new things! Hope your week is productive. The Mailman Came!

Friday brought the mailman - first was a gorgeous Thank You from Leah who was the recipient of my package in the Sewing Love swap. She sent a beautiful card and some gorgeous scraps for me to include in future projects. The other was this gorgeous fabric from Sandy Hendersons Farmers Market range, I was very restrained and only ordered two pieces, though I am sure there will soon be more of this range in my collection, the colours are very vibrant and suitable for various projects. I had a couple of friends visit on the weekend and we did some stitching in between eating and drinking. I finished these three animal stitcheries whose pattern I found in an old Handmade magazine. I used variegated threads the cat and dog are DMC's and the rabbit is an Anchor thread. They are to be made up into bookmarks according to the pattern.
Hope your Monday was a good one.
