Simply Red Bag

I finally remembered how to finish the handles on the bag I started a few weeks ago and 30 minutes later it was all done, just in time for it's first outing today.

My version of the Simply Chic bag pattern by Colleen Archbold which was published in Handmade magazine Vol 23 No 2.

The instructions are very clear but the handle thing was not working for me - sometimes I just like to make things more difficult than they need to be.

Not only did my red bag survive its first outing it received complimentary comments as well, (my audiologist may soon have a new hobby).

When I got home I finished this little snow piece, quite the opposite of the hot humid weather we have been experiencing here.

Design by Esther over here where there are a number of free cross stitch patterns.

Hope you enjoyed creating today.

Still playing with spots

Things are going slowly here with the change to my daily routine - No more daily commute and I have a couple of extra hours at home, the hook is getting a rest.
Slowly putting borders on the spots I completed last week and trying to get into the book - Just Between Us by Cathy Kelly.

Beautiful

With Annie all stitched up I chose some fabrics

And indulged a little

Speed sewing and the top was complete.

A little quilting on a little quilt

And bound all ready for Miss1.

I even found this little quilt label that I received when I participated in the recent Fabric Frolic which was perfect for this project.

The party was a celebration of style.

Hope your weekend was just as sweet.

Two for one

One finish and two starts that is...

So I worked on these purple spots this past week.

The fabrics I showed here a week ago were cut and sewn together yesterday now some hand sewing to do before the next bit at the sewing machine.

Just because she is too cute I started this stitchery 'Annie' by Liz at Teddlywinks.

Today I finished the purple spot pouch.

Some things just go together nicely and some take a lot more effort!
Hope your weekend has seen some progress on whatever caught your attention.
