Done...

with the gardening that is.

An armchair caddy from the pattern by Hugs 'n Kisses free tutorial available on the blog.

If I was making it for me I think it would need to be longer as the arms on the couch are very fat!

Here it is with some supplies. I love the way the pincushions sits up in the middle and the pockets hold threads and scissors.

A collection of pretty purple items for the New Beginnings project being co-ordinated by Jenny.
In the post to Queensland to brighten a sewing space after the devastation the flooding caused in that state earlier this month.
Oh, and January is done too - how did that happen??
Now to tackle a few of those UFO's maybe that will be my February goal? Best I decide quickly. Yesterday I worked on one of the scrappy quilt tops that I started last year.

Friday night progress

Finished the hand stitching on Ms Bear and then it was off to play with Nomee.

Finished drawstring bag design from Li'l Blokes, perfect for storing small projects on the go.

Finished Springberries Needlecase designed by Cinderberry stitches, with some modifications of course. - Inside love the pocket for keeping essentials handy,

and Out.

The back has strips, perfect for using up little pieces of fabric.

Hanging out together.

Ooh, that means I have completed a UFO already and it is still January - Yippee.

Thanks to Heidi and Bobbi for hosting Friday Night sew in, it sure is fun imagining sewing with a lot of other creative types while working in my lounge room.

Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are.

Happy!

I remembered that today is January's Friday night sew in hosted by Heidi and Bobbi.
The best bit, I only had to work in the middle of the day so I am all set for a productive evening and to make sure the new iron does it's job.
I am going to make something with this,
Do some work on this,
And maybe even baste this, as I have already made the backing.
May your weekend be full of crafty goodness.

The letter S

Sewing with Sue,

A fine light pink border and a pin wheel border, then a wide light pink border.
Ready to be quilted.

Shopping - I only took a little detour on my may to the job on Saturday.
Look what I found at GJ's in the bargain bucket, the ones on either end are from the remnant basket - perfect for the stash.
Five of the six fat quarters have been cut and are ready to be sewn.

Stitching up a little design from Cinderberry Stitches, verigated purple thread - perfect for berries.

Hope you had a fun weekend without rain!

Happy Creating.

Ready to travel

So here she is
My version of Flat Nat the travelling stitcher whose story you will find here.

On the back there is the gorgeous Babushka face with a pocket to hold her suitcase.

And the front - the gorgeous stitched design, here you also see the contents of the suitcase.
A fun project by the talented Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches.

This rainbow appeared over the neighbours roof Saturday afternoon right after the siren sounded on the Grand Final!

Now I'm off to the sewing room to see if there is another finish in this weekend??

Wishing you a stitchy weekend.

Stitching and shopping

While Tuesday was a work day, I was on the road again and just couldn't resist a little detour to fill in the hour between clients.
So I visited Gail's Patchwork Emporium in the Ballarat suburb of Sebastapol - now one hour really is not sufficient time here - there are so many gorgeous things to look at, it is not all fabric. I was on a time schedule though so I picked up these three, had a chat and was back on the job!
No particular projects in mind for the orange and brown fabric just couldn't resist, the blue has a definite purpose - should get me started on the Christmas production line.

A little sample of the new fabric range 'Where the wind blows' designed by the talented Melly. I picked up these fat quarters on Saturday at Immerse, the colours are very pretty.

Oh and a little more stitching - the outside of Flat Nat's suitcase - need to organise Nomee to get this one sewn together now.

To those of you on school holidays - relax and enjoy.

Hope your week is going well and you have plenty of creative opportunities.

Magnificent Monday

Continuing the stitching from Saturday - 4 done - 2 to stitch! Only 'C' and '3' to do.
A little stitching on Flat Nat's suitcase - it sure is little stitching!
Good Mail - fabric from the lovely Marina to make more apple cores (and there wasn't even any of that other mail to spoil it.)
Lots of pretties here - Thanks Marina.
Work got cancelled, so today turned into a stitchy fabric filled Magnificent Monday.
Happy Monday

Sew In (or Out!)

I hope it still counts. I took my sewing things with me yesterday afternoon when I went to work and I managed to get a few stitches in between appointments.
Now the main stitchery for Flat Nat is complete - she got her stocking and shoes yesterday which was just as well as winter returned here today.

When I got home I managed to get some of the details for the passport completed - but I can't get any better photo than this - Maybe if the sun puts in an appearance soon I will be able to show you what it really looks like?

Today I got to play at Immerse in the Yarra Valley where we were treated to some fine projects by the talented Melly of Melly and Me, Rosalie from Rosalie Quinlan Designs and Leanne from Leannes House, but you will have to wait til tomorrow as they are doing it all over again and I don't wish to spoil the surprise for those attending. I did some stitching there too.

Crafting 'ADD'

The beginning of my Flat Nat designed by the talented Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches.

Some quilting on my pinwheel blocks from the quilt a long.

A warm and fluffy beanie finished for the cool windy weather we are currently experiencing.

Progress on my purple version of the textured vest pattern in a '90's magazine.

As you can see there has been some progress on two projects, a finish and a start.
Focussing is just not my strong point, especially when I have a whole day to play!

New (or almost)

A new friend to take on stitchy outings.

Well she will be when I make her, I chose the fabric today and maybe I will start tomorrow?

I have wanted this pattern since I first saw her on Natalies blog - now it has come to live at my house - Yay.

Now the pincushion for the challenge over at Pins and Needles has a mind of its own -

Let's just she wheelie is a challenge.

Slowly she emerges from her safe place...

Need to focus - as I deadline is Monday.

Hope you have time for creative activity.
