Thinking that I wanted to stitch at FNWF last night and dismissing all the new projects as requiring too much preparation I went in search of a resting project that I could just pick up and stitch.
At the very bottom of the pile was this quilt which I started early in 2008 the blocks are mostly machine pieced, though there are a couple that were stitched by hand. I duly stitched the top together and even started hand quilting it before I lost interest and moved on to brighter and shinier projects.
I put some stitches in it last night, though as I am just quilting around the shapes in matching thread it is not obvious in the photo's.
In this year of finishing more than I start, this quilt may actually be completed.
There was a little woolly action too but you don't need to see another half finished sock. As I got to knit today at my local knitting group there may just be a finish this week.
Now I'm off to see what everybody else was working on last night.
Thanks to Cheryll for hosting.
Hope your day is sunny.

You'll probably fall in love all over again as you quilt your little beauty. I am sadly lacking at finishing quilts. It's just the patching that I love. Cherrie
Well look at that, it's a blast from the past...maybe now the weather is getting cooler it will come in useful keeping you warm while you get that quilting done...
It is good to get out an old project and work on it. Well done.
Hope you got to finish your sock today..
Pretty quilt, it's good you brought it out again to finish.
Quilt looks lovely and I like the fabric used. Can't wait to see the whole quilt.
Sometimes a quilt needs a rest and it will let you know when it is ready to proceed, you can't rush a good thing, that's what i tell myself.
Doesn't it feel good to get onto some "old" work and know you made some progress. Thanks for enjoying some mint slice with me at FnwF. :)
Damn those new shiny projects...they are always there trying to lure us away from the finish.
Stick with it and it will be finished in no time.
It will be great if you finish it. I have projects going back a long time too.
ooh, lovely ;-) thanks for visiting and leaving a comment for FNwF
Lovely quilt well worth trying to finish !!!!!
I like that saying - finishing more than I start. That is what I am doing this year as well. (hopefully - so far it is working). Lots of great blocks in your quilt.
Such a lovely thing to go back to, and lovely restful stitching for a Friday night :)
It must be the year for finishing off some very long term projects although my quilting is much, mcuh older than your project lol. Love seeing your socks too. I picked up a cheap book of socks at the newsagents the other morning so will have to get the needles going soon too.
Always lovely to find and restart on a UFO... especially one as lovely as this. Hope it spurs you on to finishing it. I never tire of photos of unfinished socks ha ha xx
Good to get stuck into an oldie but a goodie. Well done.
Hugs xx
I'm a bit of a bower bird myself, always looking for the next shiny project to pick up and start, so I can relate! LOL
It's so good to finish off something though isn't it....you're one step closer now! and So nice to do it with friends around!
sugary hugs
Wendy :O)
What a lovely quilt. Im so glad you picked it out of the pile to work on.
What would we do without our hobbies? How do people without hobbies spend their time? Glad you pulled out the quilt top again -- hopefully you will get it completed (there's still 8 months left in the year. :) Best wishes, Tammy
It's good to bring out an old ufo.
hope you keep up the enthusiasm for it and get it finished.
both quilts look really nice. I'm just starting to hand quilt and getting the stitches even is very difficult! wont be able to post pics until I'm all done, but I look fwd to that. :)
