Yarning along

When I met J's mum for a little shopping last week she gifted me with this sack full of delicious goodies.

I didn't eat or use them all yet but I found the perfect use for the sack - my new knitting bag.

What you see in here is the beginnings of the second sock - there may yet be two to keep all my toes warm.

All the knitting of late has left my hooks idle, so I thought a little project with some yarn from the stash may just ease my yearning to start a much bigger hooky project when I really should be finishing some of my started projects.

Enjoying this little piece in pretty colours - no pattern following here, just making it up as I go and looking forward to new mittens to keep my hands warm while I knit.

Reading this week has been this intriguing tale by Lesley Pearce entitled Gypsy - the story of four young English migrants adventures in America and Canada in the late 19th century.

Joining all the talented participants yarning along this week.

I am so jealous of all the people that can crochet out there! I can't seem to manage it! And that book looks really interesting. I love that period in American history, although I don't know much about Canada at that time.

I have yarn and projects and materials tucked away in all sorts of bags and totes. Right now, can't really decide what I want to do. I was away from blogland for a week while on vacation, and have spent the last two days finding all sorts of inspiration. Maybe my brain is overloaded and that's why I can't decide. :) Have a great rest of the week. Tammy

That bag is so beautiful - what a lovely gift! And I love the colors you're using in your crocheting. So bright & cheerful. (I think I have that fabric underneath as well in my stash somewhere. Love it!) xo

That's the perfect knitting bag . Love the colours too!

I really need to make myself some sort of carry all for my sewing projects. My tatty Ipad box doesnt look half as classy.

I love the idea of gifting things in reusable fabric bags---seems so Japanese! and what a great use of all those odds and ends (or in my case, just acquired and never used fabric!)! Lovely pieces to go in it, too!!!
