Christmas Cards

Finally some Christmas crafting achieved - albeit slowly. Tags for some of the presents I will give- I love my tag punch. and Some cards that I really need to get in the post shortly - or they will be late again!

Ooh.. I played with softer colours and more snow flakes this was fun.

And another cool colour, the background card is a soft blue/green and the colour in the top corner is actually a metallic gold... I like a lot!

How many days till Christmas??

This past Sunday afternoon a group of us gathered at a friends house for Christmas Card making. We had lots of delicious food, just like at Christmas and plenty of inspiration as the host had set up a whole wall with Christmas card ideas - more than 50 cards were displayed. Everybody did their own thing with ideas and techniques being freely shared. I was productive and ended the day with nine completed cards and a number of stamped designs ready to be added to cards. All of my cards are made with hand stamped designs. As these stamps were not from my collection I do not have the brand or designer details, oops. A laid back Aussie santa chilling out after all his hard work!

And a more mature card made with a great Christmas tree roller stamp and a multi coloured stamp pad.

I am pleased to have made a start already and hoping that I will be more prepared for Christmas this year.

The post title was the question we were asked upon arrival at the event on Sunday. My guess of 160 was the closest to correct answer.

Happy Mothers Day

This week I completed some of my swap projects and did some more work on the Home Among the Gum trees project. I didn't get anything else done for Mum this week so I'll bring some flowers and this card which I made a couple of weeks ago. It is looking good here the sun is out this morning for the first time in a few days, should make for a pleasant drive to see the mother and join the family for lunch. To all the mothers out there Happy Mothers day, enjoy a lovely day surrounded by family. Hope the sun is shining where you are. Happy Sunday

I did It!

I have seen these little square zippered pouches all around cyberspace a lot and I really wanted to make one of my own, well I have made lots of bags and pouch things and I thought it really couldn't be that hard could it? Well no, it was not hard, I just had difficulty getting my head around how to get the zip in the right place, silly really when I figured out how! So I whipped this little one up from some leftover squares and I am in Love. There will definitely be some more of these coming up shortly, they are too cool and great to make from scraps like this one.Here is a picture of some of the cards which the group made yesterday, as you can see the variety was amazing when everyone was working with the same challenge guidelines. Some are similar, but most are very different and that is not just about the colour. I was very inspired by the other participants designs and sharing tools is always good with papercrafts.

Hope you had a good Monday, the weather was very cool and dark here so I spent the day inside stitching, we are currently experiencing a taste of winter with some of the mountains having snow yesterday!

A good way to spend Sunday Afternoon

So what do you get when you take some of this, and some of these??

I spent the afternoon today at a friends house with 5 other like minded crafters and we had lots of fun creating these...

Every 45 mins we had a new challenge.. the categories were very broad and we were able to create whatever style of card we liked. The above is my creation from the card using scrapbook papers, you could use whatever other items so long as it included the requirement of the challenge.

This one is from the 'card in a colour you do not normally use' category. I always do bold so I played with pastels and while it is difficult to see the detail in the photo, it is quite a pretty card.

These two are gift cards, that was the only requirement here.

We had a lovely afternoon and achieved several cards each, I like the idea of sharing resources in this kind of activity, the company was good and of course there was plenty of food to eat.
