Wondering...

So this is how far I got with my Happy Houses - they are all sewn together - I can't get a better pic as it is too windy out and I don't have any way of hanging inside. I used the chocolate and blue spot for the sashing and blue print for the cornerstones. I am happy with this so far, but now I need to make some decisions about borders - I have enough of the sashing fabric to do a border the same width as the sashing, 1&1/2 inch finished. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Here is a close up of the middle section, it is truly a scrap quilt that has been made from fabrics from the stash and the swap blocks. currently it is 65x55 inches.
Tomorrow I am off to Quilters Bazaar to enjoy their first birthday celebrations and catch up with Jindi's mum. Of course there will be plenty of inspiration there.
Enjoy Sunday - hope it is a relaxing day with plenty of creative inspiration where ever you are.
Happy Crafting

Wow, it is looking lovely! A lovely way to use up scraps.

Those houses look great. I think I would use the 1,5 inch border first and than make a wider border with lots of different fabrics and colors. Like: all of them 4 inch wide and longer than 4 inch, but different length. Got the idea?

the sashings really frame the blocks well. I think it would look great as a border to frame it, then will you put a larger border on the outer?
I think it looks gorgeous.
You definitely deserve that trip to Quilters bazaar! Enjoy

this looks great! i see the sashing now, it came together well. i think the border of the sashing fabric will be good, then you could do an outer border of your favorite color from the houses. it would draw out those colors from the quilt and be pleasing to you. something subtle but something that you like.

Ms T your Quilt is turning out so wonderful. I love your happy houses they are so adorable. The corner stones in this quilt set it right off. Your idea for different 2 inch squares sewn together for the border....will look so good on this top. I can hardly wait to see the finished quilt.
