Road tripping and mittens...

Monday I got to be a passenger on a road trip, quite a novel excursion for me, and well the destination was a fun place to visit filled with all things yarn.
Guess Where?

Just a few things followed me home and there are plans to get to work on this lot before winter is over, which should be a while yet as it has just turned up in my part of the world.
The red in the middle are two little balls of 4ply yarn great for some colour work I am planning, there are three of those big balls of brown classic which just happens to be called Java - I do like all things coffee, even yarn colours, the cellophane bags are remnants of lace weight yarn that I thought I could practice dyeing with and at 50c a bag they sure were a bargain.
Not in the picture is a ball of Seranade in the platinum colourway, a nice dark grey in a wool/bamboo mix.

I finished the mauve mitts, they are just a bit longer than the original blue ones.

I even made 2 that match, well except that I mirrored the central cable.

Will you be joining Friday night sew in?
I'm thinking I should get myself organised to finish the projects I cut out and started at FNWF earlier this month.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Sewing Knitting and Hooking...

all got a look in at my place.
After finishing the knitting on the back of the pink tunic I sewed the shoulders together and finished the neck opening - too easy.
There was some work on the second Free sock - almost there, just the toe to complete,
and sewing the toe of the first sock.
At craft night this week there was a bag of yarn needing a new home - no I didn't resist even though it is mostly this very thick chenille yarn which I am not good at knitting, but there's always a possibility of a little hooking. I couldn't resist the temptation last night and got a ball out for a bit of a play. So far so good. While there are lots of balls of this yarn they're not long so it should be used up real soon.
Hope your Friday night was productive.

Chocolate

Yarn that is!
Nice and thick with fat needles.
Fortunately it is lovely to work with and grows very quickly.
A couple of cooler days this week had me looking for a jacket to wear while out in the evenings. The chocolate yarn, Moda Vera Alice, which has been languishing in the stash, is perfect and this pattern should do the job nicely.
Joining the FNSI - weekend edition here.
Thanks to Heidi for hosting.
Hope all is going smoothly in your creative space.

Cutting and sewing

I hope that's enough for an evening of sewing.

After all the cutting and sewing.

I neglected to take photos of the fabric stack that I started with either before or after the final selections were made.
Then I cut lots of squares before dinner - yes, I started my sewin just as soon as I got in from work Friday.
After eating I sewed lots - still no photo's Oops.
I finally remembered to take photo's when I was finished for the evening - they are average, but the lighting is no better today - very overcast and rainy here -Yay winter is coming soon.
Good progress was made - more cutting and sewing today.
And the jar is now empty!
Hope you all had a successful FNSI too.
